OUR SEASON AND DEPARTURES

During our off season we will almost always be open Monday through Thursday, but we prefer that you call ahead. We do like to get out on the river ourselves from time to time. We are also happy to accommodate earlier departure times, just call ahead.

THE RIVER

The South Branch averages 1 ½ to 3 feet deep, the current flows approximately four miles per hour with no white water rapids. The South Branch is a clear, cool spring fed river. Canoeing, kayaking and tubing are safe and fun for people of all ages and levels of experience. Children under six must wear a life jacket.

FOR YOUR SAFETY AND ENJOYMENT

Remember to bring sun screen, bug spray, drinks, bungee cords and a trash bag. We do not recommend that you take cell phones, cameras, keyless remotes, wallets or purses unless they are in a water proof container. To help us keep the river clean and beautiful, please do not bring Styrofoam coolers, glass containers or jello shots. Canoes do tip on occasion; have a way to secure your car key, please keep all trash and empty cans in a container tied to your canoe. Plan to pack your trash out with you as there are no trash containers at landings.

RESERVATIONS

We recommend that you make reservations for all trips, especially for peak Saturdays and holidays. Call as soon as possible or click on “reservation” tab for on-line reservations. There are times when we get fully booked. There is no deposit required for reservations. Walk-ins are always welcome.

METHOD OF PAYMENT

We accept Visa, Master Card and cash. No personal checks please.

LARGE GROUPS

We have the experience and capability you are looking for. We have ample parking and a beautiful riverside picnic area for your group. Please call or email (“contact us” tab) for group rates. It is helpful if a group leader can collect money prior to your arrival and pay for all rentals at once. This will allow us to serve you better and get your group on the river faster.

CAMPING AND PICNICING

You are always welcome to picnic at our place. Downriver from our place, Meads Landing provides a nice place to picnic also. There are public landings with restrooms at approximately 1 ½ hour intervals down the river. Camping at state forest campgrounds is available at approximately 4 hour intervals.

PETS

Dogs are welcome in our canoes and small lap dogs are OK in our kayaks. Please plan to keep your dog on a leash while you are at our picnic area awaiting departure.
