The passengers of your vehicle(s) will relax in our picnic area for a few minutes while the driver(s) of your vehicle(s) will follow one of our vehicles to your chosen take-out point down river from Campbell’s. There your driver(s) will be transported back to Campbell’s where you will rejoin your group and begin your trip. You will end the trip at your vehicle where you simply pull our boats or tubes securely up on the bank and jump in your vehicle and head out. We will retrieve boats or tubes later in the day.Other transportation arrangements can be made on request. We always try to meet our customer’s needs. We can arrange to pick you up at the end of your trip. If you are looking for door to door transportation from your cabin or campsite, taxi service and party vans are available at reasonable rates through Executive Taxi Service in Houghton Lake. (989-302-0015 or 989-213-9196). They will pick you up and drop you off at Campbell’s and pick you up at the end of your trip.
Trip times listed are based on our average customer during peak summer months. These times allow for plenty of “float time” and time to swim and picnic. If you are paddling in the spring or fall or if you are a serious paddler, expect trip times to be shortened by ½ hour or more.
Our canoes are 17′ aluminum boats with two seats but can accommodate up to four persons or 650 lbs. Aluminum canoes, because of their design, are easier to steer than composite canoes. We offer several styles of kayaks. We have both tandem (2 person) kayaks as well as solo kayaks. We offer both “sit-in” (conventional) and “sit-on-top” kayaks.
